About AI Image Prompt Generator
AI Image Prompt Generator is an independent online utility that helps people turn a short idea into a structured, detailed prompt for AI image-generation workflows. It runs in the browser, is free to use, and is available to anyone, anywhere.
What we do
This website does one thing: it writes image prompts. You describe what you have in mind in ordinary language, choose a few creative settings, and the generator assembles those choices into a clear prompt with the subject, style, lighting, camera, composition, colour and framing arranged in a consistent order.
The result is plain text. You can read it, edit it, shorten it, and paste it into whichever image-generation platform you already use. An optional negative prompt lists the things you would rather the image avoided, for platforms that support that field.
- Prompt building, not image rendering. The output is a description, ready for you to use elsewhere.
- Structure over guesswork. Details land in the same order each time, so results are easier to compare.
- Editable output. Nothing is locked. Every generated prompt is yours to rewrite.
Why we built this tool
Writing a good image prompt is a small skill that takes a surprising amount of practice. People new to image generation usually type a few words, get something generic back, and are not sure which part of the description was missing. Experienced users know the answer — subject detail, lighting, framing, mood — but writing all of it out by hand for every image gets repetitive.
We built this generator to remove that repetition. It handles the scaffolding so you can concentrate on the idea itself, and it doubles as a way to learn: reading a generated prompt shows you which details are worth describing and where they belong in the sentence.
The tool is deliberately narrow. It does not try to be a creative suite, a gallery, or an account-based service. It builds prompts, and that is all.
How the generator works
The generator uses browser-based prompt-building logic. When you select an option, JavaScript running on your own device picks the matching descriptive phrase, combines it with your idea, removes duplicated wording, and tidies the punctuation and capitalisation into a readable sentence. There is no external AI model involved in producing the prompt, and no API key is required.
Because everything happens locally, what you type stays on your device. It is not sent to a server by the generator, and it is not stored between visits — refreshing the page clears it.
You describe the idea
A sentence naming the subject and anything that must appear in the image.
You set the direction
Image type, style, lighting, camera, lens, mood, colour, detail level and aspect ratio.
The prompt is assembled
Your wording is preserved and the selected details are arranged around it in a fixed order.
Who can use it
Anyone working with AI image tools, at any level of experience. The controls use plain labels rather than technical jargon, so no prior prompting knowledge is needed to get a usable result.
Beginners
People trying image generation for the first time who want a solid starting prompt and an example of how one is structured.
Designers and illustrators
Anyone exploring visual directions quickly before committing time to a concept.
Photographers and retouchers
Users who think in lenses, lighting setups and framing and want that vocabulary reflected in the prompt.
Marketing and content teams
Teams that need consistent wording across a set of images rather than a different prompt style each time.
Students and educators
Anyone learning how prompt structure affects output, or teaching it.
Hobbyists and writers
People building character, scene or worldbuilding visuals for personal projects.
Our approach to simple online tools
We build small, single-purpose web utilities that do one job properly and get out of the way. That means a few working principles we try to hold to on this site.
- No sign-up. The tool opens and works. There is no account, no trial and no gated output.
- Local by default. Processing happens in your browser wherever the task allows it, as it does here.
- Honest description. We describe what the tool does and what it does not do, without inflated claims about results.
- Clarity over features. Options are added when they change the output in a useful way, not to lengthen a feature list.
- Accessible and responsive. Keyboard navigation, visible focus states and a layout that works on a phone as well as a desktop.
Transparency and independence
A few points worth stating plainly, so there is no confusion about what this website is.
What this site does and does not do
- This website does not generate final images. It produces text prompts only. It does not render, host, store or deliver images of any kind.
- The image is created elsewhere. Once you copy a prompt, you paste it into a separate AI image-generation service, and that service produces the picture.
- We are independent. AI Image Prompt Generator is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or associated with OpenAI, Midjourney, Google, Adobe, Stability AI, or any other AI company, platform or brand, unless a partnership is explicitly stated on this website. Any product or company names mentioned are used only to describe compatibility.
- Check the rules of the service you use. Third-party image platforms have their own terms of service, content policies, licensing terms and rules about commercial use. Please read them before generating or publishing images. Responsibility for what you create with a prompt rests with you and the platform you use.
- No guaranteed results. Image models introduce randomness and interpret wording differently. A well-structured prompt improves consistency, but no prompt can guarantee a specific outcome.
